An outstanding historical mystery by an author I hadn’t read before. Set in New York at the turn of the 21st century. Capability (Kitty) Weeks is the Society Editor assistant for the newspaper, the Sentinel. Kitty attends a high society gala which featured daytime fireworks. While present a guest is found dead in the stables who was found shot with is own gun. Behind the murder is a hidden motive to derailed the neutrality of the United States in THE WAR. Kitty learns a secret about her Father that will change her life. I recommend this book. Disclosure: I received a free copy from Sourcebooks Landmark through NetGalley for an honest review. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book. The opinions are my own.opin
