It is Moving day for Maggie McDonald and her family in the first book of fascinating new series. Max, her husband has I inherit the family home from his aunt. He is ready to start a new job nearby. The new house is not in the condition they thought it would be. Max gets a message that he needs to be Bangladesh on Monday. While checking the circuits Max finds a dead body in the basement. The house becomes a crime scene so the barn is a temporary home for awhile. Th closest neighbor is not too friendly. Max leaves for his job leaving Maggie, the two boys, their dog and two cats to settle into the new life. The police are friendly and very helpful. The action is ongoing and rapid as the family is under attack almost every night. Beware as there is animal cruelty. The book was excellent on keeping me wondering who was the guilty party. I am now waiting for the next adventure. Disclosure: I received a free copy from Kensington Books through NetGalley for an honest review. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book. The opinions expressed are my own.
