Lost Among the Angels by Alice Duncan

Thanks author for a copy of a free book. I have been wanting to read this series for awhile and it did not disappoint. I found a light amusing story with many smiles and laughter. This the first book in the series, Mercy Allcutt has grown up in a wealthy prominent Boston family. She defied her parent by learning typing and shorthand. Horrors as she moved decadent Los Angeles. She accepts a job with a PI in a run-down building. Before she has unwanted lovers and gets herself in difficulty as the slang is beyond her understanding. There are enough changes to keep you reading. I brought the next book as I need to see what Mercy is up to now. I recommend this book.
