In a southeast corner of Boise is the location of the first state prison. It is adjacent to the foothills. Today next to it is The Idaho Botanical Gardens. Note the white spot in the middle of the picture, a plastic bag. I remember the prison as a member of my girl scout troop.  We toured the area in the 1940s. The lilacs are in bloom.
