I have read all of the Daisy Gumm series. It is a story of spiritual beliefs, violence, aid, murder, greed in the 1920’s. Daisy has difficulties again, this time, it is not of her making. Flossie brings a battered woman to Daisy for help. Daisy is shocked to learn that those helping her are breaking the law. Daisy asked Harold to help. Daisy is forced to lie to her Dad and Sam in order to keep the woman safe. Matters become worse when the woman’s husband is murdered. Thanks to the author for a free copy.
