This is the fifth book in the series, I have read them all and I feel this the best one. Maine Busman Harbor already has a blanket of snow. Julia Snowden picks up her Mother’s mail that includes a mall package without an address. Her Mother opens the package and finds a family heirloom, the black widow’s necklace that had been missing for over two hundred years. Julia’s begins to explore who sent the necklace and discovers that her Mother has many unknown relatives. In an effort to determine who owns the jewelry decides to visit the family home in Boston. There she finds the family preparing to buried a cousin that had been presumed dead for a number of years. The encounter is interrupted by the family lawyer and homicide detective. Julia learns her Mother has inherited her cousin’s personal belongings and that he was murdered. Julia must find out who murdered her cousin, Hugh and where the necklace has been all these years. Does her Mother own the necklace? Can she do this before the major snow storm prevents her from returning home? I highly recommend this book.
