After waking up to a dusting of snow each morning, it was lovely to seeing the sun and birds flying everywhere with appearance of mating occurring. Then morning doves and red wing-blackbirds come on the patio for seed. A bird I felt was a cassin finch was there yesterday. I have not been fast enough to get a picture yet. At other feeding area there are at least 50 California quail. This week a number of male mallards have been feeding. I have seen at least one female. Other birds around are robins, house finches,  crows, ravens, starlings and house sparrows. One day a sharp-shine hawk look over the feeding areas to see his next meal.

  1. No real sign of spring here in Calgary yet. It’s teasing us with a couple of warmish days but then it’s going to cool off again. I’m happy that spring is gearing up for you though. :o)

  2. Bird watching is so peaceful and the antics of them can be very amusing. A great smile, thanks for sharing.

Wow you’ve seen so many different birds! I love your geranium, it’s just the perfect color ❤

I love the contrast of the geranium with the snowy background. Makes a beautiful picture!

    • I like the contrast very much. I brought that geranium 3 years ago and it has been flowering ever since. It is about to be in full bloom shortly. I plan on taking a picture 📷.

It seems that despite the snow, spring must be on its way – that’s a lot of birds! I hope your week has been going well. I’ll “see” you soon at the coffee share.
