BEL OF THE BRAWL By Maggie McConnon

The second book in the series and a new author for me. I found a first-class story and a couple of mysterIes. Shamrock Manor is a wedding venue. Bel McGrath is now the mayor’s chef. At this wedding, the bridegroom is found dead in a restroom. His death is ruled a heart attack. The ten thousand dollar tip is missing along with a waitress. Bel and her brother, Cargen start looking for the waitress. The trail is convoluted and takes numerous turns. The waitress is located at times and she claims the bridegroom was murdered. Bel is having problems with her current boyfriend. Her high school boyfriend is getting married at the Manor bringing back unwanted memories. Running through the series is the disappearance of a teenager after a night of revelry, many years ago. Amy was Bel McGrath’s best friend. They parted with angry words. All are upset when Amy’s belongings are found in the low water of the river. There is a set of bones with the clothing. Was the bridegroom murdered? Is Amy DEAD? I recommend this book.

I wish I had gotten in on this one. I think I skipped over it because the title didn’t appeal. Your review makes it sound really good.

    • I debated about it, I didn’t want to do a tour and giveaway. I agree to put it on my blog. Didn’t receive the book until it was published. I think the next one night be even better as it looks like the backstory is in the lead.

Odd that you didn’t get the book until it was published. They must have a different view on effective publicity.

Oh, you mentioned once that the book tour threw off your reading schedule. Now I understand why!
