Welcome, come inside to select a drink and treat. Let’s go sit outside on the patio. The quail might show up as they have been around this. Last weekend we had rain most of the time. There was snow on the mountains but it was gone today.

I had a bone scan today and felt it might take most of the morning. It took less than 1/2 hour. We than went over to Steve Cafe for breakfast. I got a Taco omelet and Cut in half. Tomorrow’s breakfast. The trees are putting on a show for us this week. The pictures were taken today.

My Big New:

August 21, I fell and broke my right hip and leg. It is just over 2 months since I wrote up in the ICU Unit at St luke’s Meridian  unable to do anything for myself. It was follow by a short stay in a rehab facility and follow by home care. Yesterday, I was able to use a cane and walk a short distance by myself.

That quail is adorable. You are looking very well Betty Louise -so good to see you up and walking with a cane. Did you have a bone scan to check your leg or a bone density scan to check for osteoporosis? I have had many of them as I have osteoporosis and osteopenia. I hope your recovery continues to go well. Loved the foliage and flowers too!

    • The bone scan was for a baseline. I will be getting medication once a year that will help prevent further damage. Waiting for an okay from my insurance. I have had osteoporosis and arthritis for a long time Because of my hernia, I have not been able to take the medication that came out about 10 years. You had to swallow it and remain upright for a time. My doctor choose not to do anything else. I started vitamins, calcium and the joint medication in my own. A couple years ago I stopped taking them as they upset my stomach so bad. That might be a problem. I am taking vitamins, 1200 mg of calcium and 2,000 mg of vitamin 3dh.

I took Forteo for 2 years- you would qualify because you have suffered a fracture- it actually rebuilds bone. I would not take any biophosphates- they can cause jaw necrosis- and yes most drugs cause stomach upset. The Forteo was paid for by the drug company, cost near to nothing.

      • The PA has never mentioned the name of the medication. I will just have to wait and see how I respond. He did mention I might have the symptoms of the flu for a few days. Not only that I guess my age will give the drug company some information.

  3. You look very beautiful and I’m happy that your recovery is going well.
These photos are great and appropriate to celebrate your healing.
    Best wishes

  4. Your photographs are lovely! I’m so sorry about your hip and hope that now you are able to walk a few steps it will continue to progress quickly. I’ve heard it’s quite an ordeal. Dawn

You had a great day—short appointment, good breakfast, and walking with a cane. The cane is particularly good news! I love your hair—the cut is so cute!

    • It called a pixie cut. My bone scan showed I have osteoporosis and I will be starting medication to repair the bone. My husband ‘s skin cancer was removed today and they got it all.

Betty Louise, catching up with you and so happy to hear your healing is coming along quickly. I can tell that cane is on its way out. Your photos are lovely and make me miss autumn-colored landscapes. Here in Texas we get a tree here or there that changes, but they are few and far between. Thank you for the splash of color.

    Blessings for your speedy recovery,

  8. Glad to hear that you are recovering and walking again!

  9. Kathleen Howell says:
