I have been reading an English Christian series by Veronica Heley. She has two excellent series, the Abbott Agency, and the Ellie Quicke, both are outstanding as characters mature and changed according to their life. Both are done with a depending asking God for help with their current problems. They are written so the references to religion did not bother me. I found this author through NetGalley. I have read the last book in series and like it so well I have gone back and read the earlier books. Both series work as stand-alone as each story is complete, but are better read in order which I am now reading the Ellie Quicke series in order. The first book is MURDER AT THE ALTER, it is out of print, I discover later that there is an ebook for it. The next one is MURDER BY SUICIDE

ELLIE is a widow who did everything in the house. She worked outside of the home but kept the house in order. Many depend on her for help. I will gradually put reviews on here over a period of time. I highly recommend this author. The only bad thing is the cost of the books. Amazon mades it easy to get the next book.

MURDER BY BICYCLE

I just finished MIRACLE BY COMMITTEE

One of the few books I accept that have been sent to me by the author. My thanks for it.

The Abbott Agency The protagonist is Bea Abbott. She is a widow and has a problem son. Bea owns and manages a housecleaning agency. I am up to date with that series and there are reviews of the books. The first one is FALSE CHARITY     https://idahobluebird50.com/2017/03/28/false-charity-by-veronica-heley/

  1. Some really interesting books in your post today. Hope you enjoy them.

I like your WWW Wednesday post. It is like chatting about books over a cup of tea! Less formal than a review, but just as enlightening.

    • Thank you for the lovely complement. It has given me idea for a weekly/monthly blog. Using a an author and comparing her series. I don’t know if I will ever do it.

    • It was the first time I have ever link a post to my blog. I didn’t know what I was doing. I don’t really understand pingbacks. I did download a WordPress book, only to find out it was a link to a site. I was so disgusted I remove the book.

I just went over to see about the Phryne books. I already had the December one in my queue and now I have requested the February book. They have been coming out at the rate of one/month, but there is nothing for January. Perhaps because of the holidays?

    • The number I was seeing decided me to buy and finally read the first one. I feel she is overweight but still good.

      • lghiggins says:

Perhaps, but I know I will enjoy Kerry Greenwood books when I get one. Same with Wendy Tyson, Veronica Heley, and Julie Mulhern. The others are hit and miss. I always anticipate reading approved books, but some are less engaging than others.

      • I finished Casket Cache and have a new must read author. I added the December Phryne book and read some reviews on the books. I see a number of 3 stars so I am not alone in my opinion on the series. Looking at the dates, I have a feeling these are released of the ebook forms. The authors you have named are always good. I would add at least two authors. Annette Dashoff (Mattie Winston), Mary Marks (Quilting series), Shelia Connolly and Sarah Rosett. There are others Donna Andrews, both Kellermans, J. A. Jance and others, cost of their ebooks are more than I am willing to pay. I have a feeling that Janice R Richardson may made that line up. The first book is that good.
