This is one of my go to authors. I have been reading her since THYME OF DEATH was released in 1994. I brought the mass paperback when it came out. I have read all the books in this series. Each book contains information about the herb featured.

China is a former defense lawyer who wanted a more relaxing life style. She gave up her position and brought a herb shop in Pecan Springs, Texas. She shares the building with Ruby who owns a new age shop. She is married to a former homicide detective who has one son. They have a bassett hound named Howard Consul.

BLOODROOT is The story of China’s Mother family.

BLEEDING HEARTS is the first book in China’s Father death. The story is completed in SPANISH DAGGER AND NIGHTSHADE.

I have read this book several times. I feel it is must read for everyone concern about teenagers problems.

China is asked by a teacher to look into a story she heard about their high school ball coach having sex with one his students. The coach is very popular as the team is winning. China must be very careful. She starts investigating and finds it might be true. Ruby is having a quilt show and a quilt disappears.

Brian has problems and tries to handle them. China’s Mother asks her to pick up her Father’s papers from lawyer. The subplots are handled nicely and come together.

During my years of teaching I read mostly children’s literature and professional books. I am enjoying catching up on my fictional side during retirement.

  4. I can loose myself in a book. I bought the first book in a garden series there not many and those around are usually very poor. I have feelings g I am going sneak in before long.
