Skeletal remains are found by Shandra Higheagle while digging clay on her ranch in the second book of this series. Ryan Greer, a homicide detective for Weippe county is again in charge of the investigation. The corpse is identified as Johnny Clark, a rodeo cowboy who went missing 30 years ago after a lover’s quarrel with Crazy Lil, Shandra’s employee.

Immediately, Ryan feels Lil is guilty of killing him. Lil refuses to say anything in her defense. Shandra knows Lil could not kill anyone especially one she loves. Shandra sets about looking for information on what happened 30 years ago. In the process, she discovers greed and lies that twist facts around so that everyone is convinced that Lil is guilty instead of the victim. Will Shandra finally convince Ryan they Lil is innocent. She meets an old friend of her father and new information on death. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and series.

I like cold case mysteries; I think they must be difficult to solve. Good review.

    • The next one is another cold case I would like to read now but I have a lot of books coming out in the next two weeks. September is full of them. I still next to read a few. I am working on one I got from Edelweiss.
