FLOWER OF THE DAY – SYRINGA

THINK POSITIVE! HUGS!

Many know this as mock orange, this a different species and is named For Meriweather Lewis and is Idaho state flower. In the late 1930’s the Girls Scout of Boise composed the suggestion to the legislature and the bill was passed. I was a girl scout and Mother was our den leader.

All kids today learn their state flower. Isn’t it neat to know that you, as a Girl Scout, were a part of that history for your state? I don’t have anything that significant to share, but I was a Girl Scout and considered that an important part of my development.
