BOOK # 7
MY REVIEW

In this Lena Jones adventure, she decided to respect her partners Jimmy requested to stay out the situation where his adopted brother is being held as a material witness in the murder of a man who he had a public disagreement. Lena changed her mind when she receives Information that Jimmy has been arrested for intimidating a witness. She arrives in Walapai Flats, Arizona to find him free on bail. Lena will do the investigation after Jimmy’s adopted Father hires DI. Lena finds the locals not selling to talk with outsiders.  The town is disturbed by the plans to open a uranium mine nearby. The area is upset as there are many deaths from various cancers. The locals blame the deaths in a uranium mine that is now closed. A peaceful rally turns violent and the Police are late in arrival. Will Lena find answers before she loses her life?

BOOK # 9

MY REVIEW

This book cover topics that most to not like to think about. Betty Webb has written an excellent story she covers these topics from the victim ‘s standpoint. When Lena Jones was in the foster program she was raped repeatedly by the father. The Mother did nothing about it. The rape came to an end when Lena attempted to kill the rapist. ‘Papa Brain Wycoff’  is being released from prison. Lena is there at the prison when he is released. She is determined to prevent another child from the experience. One of the Mother’s is arrested for the killings and Lena reluctantly agrees to look into the matter to save the woman. The investigation disturbs Lena badly and she starts dreaming of the past negative portions of her life.

I highly recommend this book and series.

Disclosure: I received a free copy from Poisoned Pen Press through NetGalley for an honest review. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book. The opinions expressed are my own.
