The first book in a new Amish series. It is an easy fun read. The mystery is very simple and I figured out the answer early. The background is in a county in Ohio that has a large Amish colony. The location of the story is an Amish candy shop. There is a negative feeling against the Amish by some of the residents of the county.
Bailey King learns her Amish grandfather has had a heart attack. She leaves her prestigious job in NYC to fly to be with him. On Arrival, she finds him arguing with a stranger. She watches in horror as he collapsed and the stranger walks away. Later the night, Bailey finds the stranger dead in her grandparent’s candy shop. She becomes the main suspect in the murder and sets out to clear her name. Her Grandparents had agreed to cater a dessert bar for a wedding. Bailey must set up a testing before the wedding the same day. The candy shop is a crime scene and the kitchen is unavailable. Will Bailey succeed in clearing her name and save her promotion? Will her Grandfather’s heart give out? Salt Carmel Fudge recipe included.
