The first book in this series. I am looking forward to reading more about Maddie James and the Orange cat that adopted her at her at her Grandmother ‘s funeral. Maddie named the cat, JJ. One evening strolling through the food fair JJ jumps the role barriers and Maddie chased after him, only to find him under a tablecloth staring at the town bully, Frank O’Malley. The local newspaper ran the story about JJ finding the murdered man and JJ becomes a hero, he attracts attentiveness wherever he goes. He accompanied Maddie everywhere. Maddie planned to return to her life on the West Coast shortly but soon changed her mind and decided to stay an open a cat cafe. I was surprised to see who owns the copywrite on the book, one of my favorite authors. I am looking forward to JJ and Maddie next adventure.
