THE DOORBELL RANG is the name of my favorite Nero Wolfe mystery and it is the beginning of this story. The book is based on Rex Stout’s Nero Wolfe books. Jordan uses Archie’s techniques to handle the happenings in her life. A stranger is at the door of Van Alst’s mansion. Shortly after, Jordan is fired and is given four hours to move her belongings from her cushy apartment. Who is this stranger, what hold does she have over Vera? Are the police corrupt? Jordan must find out alone as her usual help has gone missing. The next two books are high on my TBR pile.
