PEACE Think Positive!

It was a pleasure to read the third book in the Vintage National Parks books. It takes place in Yellowstone Park which I have been to several times over the years. It is one of the best I have read. I didn't want to put it down and found myself reading late into the night to finish it. It covers FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT'S Conversation Civilian Crops CCC. I have heard of them and seen some of their work but I never knew much about it. Elise Brooks, daughter of a park ranger is working as a pillow pusher aka as a maid to earn money for college tuition. This is the fourth year and by the end of it, she will have enough money for college. Elise will be teaching the CCC men to better their reading and writing skills. Nat Webber, a new recruit from Brooklyn, NewYork who have always felt e amount to nothing as he can not read or write. He agreed to join the CCC In order to send money home. Nat is selected by the Rangers as a foreman and must send weekly written reports to the rangers. Minor fires occur throughout the summer. Volunteers are asked for fighting forest fires and Nat volunteered. Several romances occur among the workers causing conflicts. Will someone discover that Nat can't read? Are any of the romance more than summer romance? Who will Elise accept as a boyfriend? Will Elise earned enough money for her college tuition? Will a major fire threatened the camp? Was it arson? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND SERIES. Disclosure: Thanks to Waterbrook for a copy through NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
