MURDER AT THE PIER (A Sister Sleuths Mystery Book 1)

I read this book for Save Our Cozies Marathon, I found a will written book with editing faults. I had trouble starting the book, but when I was about a 1/3 into it I started to enjoy it. The main characters did not grab my attention, I remember the suspects better. Names of the characters often miss used leaving me to figure out who was what. The animals were confusing and I felt that she needs to learn about animal behavior. This one is hard to grade, I would like to have given it 3 1/2 stars
Lea and Maddy are sisters that like to explore murders cases. This one involves burglaries of constructions sites. Lea goes to look at a house with lights there were they sudden be. She interrupts a burglary in process one of the dogs jumps the van and Wendy follow it with help from their homicide friend. Arriving at the pier the van’s doors are open and the dog is inside. She turns it loose and both dogs take off under the pier. There they find a dead man.
I would recommend this book for YA and a summer read.
