This Week In Books March 9

BE KIND

TAKEN TOO SOON by Edith Maxwell -The #6 book in the Quaker Midwife series – At Rose and David’s wedding two events happen that are explore in the books. David’s estrangled brother arrives; Rose receives a telegraph from her Aunts asking for them to come at once as their ward, Frannie has been murdered. Could David’brother be the KILLER? This book has more mystery and less midwife. I highly recommend this book and series.

FURBIDDEN FATALITY by Deborah Blake #1 New author – The best pet rescue book I have read. Kari wins a lottery which gives her several million dollars. She learns of a pet rescue that is about to close as there are money problems and she buys it. Queenie, a stray kitten that she adopted and Buster, a pit bull on death have minor roles. Kari needs to solve all the existing problems before the shelter can open. This the best pet rescue I have read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

THE BODY IN THE BEAUTY PARLOR by Judi Lynn – The second book in the Jazzi Zander mystery series husband, and cousin are just finishing the house they are flipping. Chad, Jazzi ex-boy friend’s wife, Misty is missing. Her sister finds a murdered ex-employer in her chair. Easter is coming and she has a lot of plans for the family dinner. I highly recommend this book and series.

RAINING CAT’S SITTER AND DOGS by Blaize Clement -The 5th book in Dixie Hemingway’s series meets a young girl at her vets. Dixie and friend tried to help her as something strange is occurring. Three teenage men come in a home where Dixie’s caring for a Russian Grey Parrot. The young girl disappears and Dixie fears she may be endanger from the boys. Who is the girl? why do the boys want to hurt her? Why does Paco have a role? I highly recommend this book.

MILK AND HONEY by Faye Kellerman – The 3rd book in the Decker/Lazarus series – Peter is patrolling in a residential area, he finds a young girl about 2 years of age in a yard. Peter and his partner are looking for the girl’s parents and encounters bee farms and massed murder. I first read it in 1986 and still remember the book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND SERIES.
