Father John O’Malley pulled up the collar of his jacket and dipped the brim of his cowboy hat against the hard wind whirling little pellets of snow into the air.
It was November, the twelfth month in the Arapaho Way, the Moon When the Rivers Start to Freeze.
Do you like Tim Halliman’s Navajo stories? If so, you will enjoy this series about the Arapaho Indians. Father John O’Mallory, an alcoholic has been sent to the reservation in Colorado to recover. Each book is a complete tale, yet there is underlying theme to holds the series together. I read this series long before I read the Navajo books. Good reading?
https://idahobluebird50.wordpress.com Member of NetGalley and Edelweiss Senior Citizen and been reading and sharing my thoughts on books most of my life. I read for my pleasure. I have been married for over 65 years. We had a Bengal Cat, Kato who has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Interests include reading, dogs, cats, gardening, knitting, crocheting. I have a strong interest in North American native plants. A word on my reviews. I am writing very few. Books reviews are from my public library, brought, many from Netgalley, a few from Edelweiss, occasionally from an author or from friends. The opinions are my own. I represent no publisher, author, or another source. My reviews can be found on. Tumblr, Goodreads, Google+, and Twitter. I have no Facebook account. Thanks for reading my blog.
My FLF comes from the book I’m reading now, Liza’s Second Chance by Molly Jebber!
Lisa Schrock, clenched her teeth and dug her fingers in the fresh dough in her Amish bakery. The forced smiles, nods to her friends’ compliments, and suppressing the truth about her husband had been difficult, but she’d managed to keep her miserable marriage a secret.
I like tHe Amish stories but some reason I seldom read them. I am now requesting them when I notice on NetGalley. Have great weekend. For the most this will be a quite weekend. My husband had his procedure yesterday and is recovering nicely. I hope to go shopping this morning. Possible nnow is forecast for the weekend
I think you would love them Betty! Kensington always has a couple every month. I’m so happy to hear that your husband is recovering nicely! We are supposed to have a warmer weekend so everything will melt and then next week the deep freeze comes back. Be careful when you go out!!
My caregiver will be driving. It should be clear today. I dislike warm than cold weather. I have told myself no requests until I read what I have already.
Over on my blog I am showcasing Naomi Rawlings’s novel Love’s Bright Tomorrow. Here I will share the first line from the novel I am currently reading, Mary and Bright by Shannon Graupman.
“Mary Bradford’s heart raced as she sat on the edge of her king sized bed — her gaze affixed on the single white sheet of paper resting on the nightstand.”
I still need to check out the FLF’s. Just got back from shopping. It was a successful trip. I was able to get a lot of things we have been needing for awhile. They didn’t have any plants I couldn’t live without. The garden center was getting ready for Valentine’s Day and the “sucker’s market”.
Happy Friday!
