All the covers of the Oxford Tearoom series are adorable and this one did not let us down. They are gentle easy reading and will hold your interest. The scenes of Muesli are delightful as are those of the Old Biddies. The descriptions of the area will put you in Oxford. I found the plot predictable and feel I want to know about Gemma Rose and her Homicide Inspector besides their off and on again of their love affair. Gemma’s Mother’s actions are beginning to annoy me.
Gemma is at the Celebration of Mayday and is standing near a boy. In the squeeze of the crowd, the boy is murdered and ends up in the river. Gemma continues to find reasons to investigate even when her boyfriend, Delvin O’Conner tells her to stay out of the inquiry. There is a definite Russian aspect to the story. There is one twist that did surprise me.
PS. Muesli looks more like a Russian Blue than a tabby cat.
My thanks to the author for a free copy of the book.
Sounds like you enjoy this series.
Your comment about the cat is interesting. I think sometimes the artists don’t pay attention to the details of the stsory.
